PINTS WITH PURPOSE NOVEMBER
Join us every Monday when we donate $1 per drink to our monthly non-profit.
This month, Pints With Purpose will benefit Communities In Schools. Come on out and help us do some good!
Communities In Schools’ founder, Bill Milliken believed that: “it’s relationships, not programs that change children.” Nationwide, CIS has been serving students, schools, and families for forty years, and CIS of Ohio has been doing that important work for 30 years, and just celebrated our 30th anniversary in April. CIS of Ohio expanded from serving central Ohio to serving students across the state in 2016. We have grown to serve schools in Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Cleveland, Toledo and Youngstown.
We serve students by partnering with school districts and specific schools within those districts. By placing a Site Coordinator in each partner school who is there every day, all day when school is in session, Site Coordinators keep a pulse check on the school.
CIS Site Coordinators provide three tiers of support, which are always tailored to meet their specific school’s and students’ needs.
Tier 1 or whole school supports include activities and events like pep rallies, school dances, whole-school volunteer projects, anti-bullying initiatives, etc.
Tier 2 or small group supports include supports for students experiencing common issues or having common affinities, like a grief group, students whose parents are getting divorced, seniors working on college essays, or students who are interested in STEM careers.
Our third Tier of support involves case-management of individual students who need the most support in areas like food insecurity, housing instability, parent engagement, and mental health. During the 2022-2023 school year, we served 24,847 students with Tier 1 supports and case managed 1,944 students.

2. Please bring your own chafing dishes or crockpots for heated food! We also ask that you bring your own serving utensils. We'll have personal plates, bowls, and silverware available for when people dig in.
3. Only one entry per individual person. A little friendly household competition, however, is welcome.
4. Please visit this link to save a spot at one of our display tables! It's totally free to enter. We just want to make sure everyone has enough space for their dish to shine.

CLINTONVILLE - POURING FOR NEIGHBORS
OHIO CRAFT BREWERIES SUPPORT HURRICANE HELENE RELIEF EFFORTS
Asheville, North Carolina has been hailed as “Beer City USA” and boasts the highest breweries per capita among U.S. cities. Craft beer scions including New Belgium, Oskar Blues and Sierra Nevada have all set up production outposts and taprooms in and around Asheville. Beer lovers of all stripes have made the pilgrimage to sample brews and explore the dozens of breweries nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain town. Many of us in the Ohio craft beer realm have made that trek south and forged friendships with our Asheville beer brethren over the years based on our mutual love of beer and the collaborative nature of our industry.
It is nearly impossible to reconcile the images of the scenic tourist mountain town that so many of us know and love with the scenes of utter destruction caused by the flooding that accompanied Hurricane Helene. Thankfully, the nature of the craft brewing industry is to creatively collaborate in good times and seemingly impossible times. The intrepid leaders at the North Carolina Craft Brewers Guild have marshalled resources for those in need and issued a call to action to all breweries at the ready in the form of a nationwide tap takeover dubbed “Pouring for Neighbors.”

Chris Glaser OPENING RECEPTION
Join us as we welcome Chris Glaser’s collection Wayfaring Stranger in our Taproom!
We're hosting an artist reception for Chris on Thursday, October 11th from 6 to 9pm here in our Taproom. Have a pint with the artist and purchase a new piece of local art!
Artist Statement from Christopher:
Curiosity is what drives style for me. Through nature, memory, dreams, and the moment at hand, I like to create stories, works of fiction that can be interpreted by the beholder. In nature, everything is connected, the great circle of life and death.
Similarly, in creating art, ideas I begin with will go full circle with the final strokes eventually joining the first strokes. With practice, memory becomes a powerful source of inspiration. Remembering dreams, despite how accurately recalled, bring intuition into play and can jump start a painting or drawing.
The end result is a pleasant surprise, a story that changes with time. Having been a self-taught builder, carpenter, most of my life, problem solving skills play into how I interpret and design, color, and composition. These problem-solving techniques guide me through a process that works as well for art as for carpentry.
My intention is that the art opens a window for the viewer’s creative imagination: broadening their view of the interconnected world we share.

Alan's paintings will be displayed and for sale from Monday, August 19th until Sunday, September 29th.
Artist Statement:
“Alan Raney lives in Yellow Springs with his wife, Susan Stiles, two springer spaniel brothers and three incredibly-old cat sisters. He has been a fool for drawing since he could hold a crayon and reach a wall. He wound up at the Art Academy of Cincinnati by way of Wright State and credits design guru Bob Bingenheimer with starting him on the road to Godzilla. After a career as a graphic designer for YSI and the county visitors bureau, he retired to travel with Susan, enjoy their grandchildren, play with the dogs and work in his very first honest-to-Godzilla studio. He is a very lucky fellow who definitely found himself in Yellow Springs.”
